Overview

The Electrical Superintendent at Mid-State Machine will oversee multiple crews involved in the installation of large-scale electrical systems. This leadership role requires managing workflows, ensuring safety, and interpreting blueprints and schematics for project completion.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify safety risks and implement precautions to eliminate them.
  • Manage material procurement and requisition needs.
  • Establish workflows and sequences to ensure projects remain on track.
  • Assemble and install electrical equipment.
  • Terminate wires and cables to various electrical equipment.
  • Test electrical components for continuity and voltage readings.
  • Inspect electrical equipment and components for hazards.
  • Setup and maintain temporary power systems.
  • Install and maintain grounding systems.
  • Hoist equipment and tools using bull rigging or crane.
  • Read blueprints and schematics.
  • Install and modify cable trays using hand and power tools.
  • Bend and cut conduit with various tools.
  • Use recognized cable pulling methods.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and systems for malfunctions.

Required skills

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician
  • National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical supervision
  • Blueprint reading and electrical schematics
  • Knowledge of workplace safety practices
  • Experience in installation and construction processes
  • Specialized electrical tools (ohm meters, multi-meters, terminating devices)
  • Ability to work at heights exceeding 300 ft.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
