Job Description

Overview

Raytheon is seeking an onsite Electrical Prototyping Fabrication Technician to join the Test Equipment Engineering Directorate in Tucson, Arizona. This role involves collaborating with design teams to develop and fabricate complex electrical assemblies, ensuring high standards for safety and reliability while supporting the engineering lifecycle for Raytheon's diverse products.

Key responsibilities

  • Fabricate, maintain, modify, and repair complex prototype electrical assemblies.
  • Interpret drawings, schematics, and 3D models to aid in the fabrication process.
  • Lead technicians in layout and fitment of various assemblies.
  • Test, inspect, and prove-in complex prototype electrical assemblies.
  • Assess designs for producibility, maintainability, and safety.
  • Communicate build concerns and collaborate on design improvements.

Required skills

  • AA/AS degree or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in testing and fabricating electrical assemblies
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics
  • Experience with cables, wire harnesses, chassis, circuit card modifications, and system troubleshooting
  • Military electronics or avionics training preferred
  • Familiarity with CAD tools and 3D drawings
  • J-STD-001 solder certification and IPC 610 & 620 inspection experience
  • Active U.S. government issued Secret security clearance
