Job Description

Overview

The Electrical Project Engineer at Packaging Corporation Of America will coordinate and complete mill reliability programs at the Valdosta, GA Paper Mill. This role focuses on improving the reliability of electrical machinery by providing technical direction and assisting maintenance and operating personnel with various electrical and mechanical maintenance projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage phases of developing key maintenance programs from conception to implementation
  • Support daily and scheduled maintenance outages and annual job assignments
  • Collaborate with mechanical maintenance and engineering teams for comprehensive program delivery
  • Utilize predictive and preventive maintenance programs for equipment issues
  • Develop equipment manuals for inspection and maintenance
  • Plan and execute capital projects for equipment replacements
  • Manage contractor performance for job execution
  • Submit and manage timelines for maintenance projects using MS Project

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Project, and AutoCAD
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Pulp & Paper industry experience preferred
