Overview

Charter Steel, a leading provider of carbon and alloy steel products, is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their Cleveland location. This role involves maintaining and troubleshooting industrial electrical systems while ensuring a safety-focused work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems and components
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and installations
  • Read and interpret schematics, equipment manuals, and electrical codes
  • Support mechanical team members and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and overhead cranes as needed
  • Use digital tools and systems to complete work orders and maintain records
  • Support environmental, safety, and quality procedures

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial electrician maintenance
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC theory, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, and hydraulics/pneumatics
  • Experience with schematics, test instruments, and industrial safety protocols
  • Ability to work in environments with dirt, grease, heat, cold, and at heights
