Job Description

Overview

Primient is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot field instrumentation devices for process equipment at their Lafayette, Indiana facility. The company operates globally, focusing on producing high-quality ingredients from renewable sources while upholding safety, integrity, and growth values.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of field instrumentation devices.
  • Inspect used parts and analyze changes in performance using various measuring instruments.
  • Document calibrations and maintain compliance with ISO 9000 or FDA standards.
  • Provide preventive maintenance and repair for all plant instrumentation.
  • Interface with the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders and inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to promote efficiency.

Required skills

  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge for problem-solving in instrumentation and switchgear.
  • Experience in instrument calibrations and documentation.
  • Proficiency in PLC ladder logic diagrams and HART communicator.
  • Troubleshooting skills for 460V 3 Phase electrical systems and control loops.
  • Familiarity with DCS interface (Foxboro control system).
  • Ability to use precision-measuring instruments for repairs and maintenance.
