Job Description

Overview

Primient is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation devices for process equipment at its Lafayette, Indiana facility. The role is critical in ensuring efficient operation within a company known for producing high-quality food and industrial ingredients from plant-based sources.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of field instrumentation devices
  • Inspect used parts to determine performance changes using various measuring instruments
  • Document instrument calibrations in compliance with ISO 9000 or FDA regulations
  • Troubleshoot and repair a variety of electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work order management
  • Collaborate with process engineers, production technicians, and quality control
  • Maintain and calibrate process analyzers and instrumentation
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine checks on instrumentation and equipment

Required skills

  • Mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Experience with VOM, oscilloscope, and multimeter
  • Proficiency in PLC ladder logic diagrams
  • Calibration and documentation skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical switchgear and control circuits
  • Knowledge of DCS interface (Foxboro control system)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and use of precision-measuring instruments
