Job Description

Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor for their Timberstrand manufacturing plant in Hamilton, Ontario. This role involves leading a team of electricians and technicians in a non-union, 24/7 operational environment, ensuring safety, quality, and effective maintenance of equipment and buildings.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and lead daily activities of the Electrical team
  • Ensure safety of all associates and contractors
  • Develop effective communication across shifts and with production teams
  • Participate in planning and scheduling of electrical work
  • Utilize troubleshooting methods to maintain uptime and production goals
  • Manage maintenance requests and inventory using computer-based programs
  • Resolve issues among associates and contractors and adhere to site policies

Required skills

  • Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience in an industrial environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Trades certification or post-secondary diploma in technology or engineering
  • Analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with CMMS (SAP) preferred
  • Experience with process control (PLC) is an advantage
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project
