Job Description

Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor for their Timberstrand manufacturing plant in Kenora, Ontario. This role involves leading a team of Electricians and Process Control Technicians to ensure safety, quality, and maintenance in a 24/7 operational environment. The supervisor will plan and develop team activities while promoting effective communication and troubleshooting to meet production goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the daily activities of Electricians and Process Control Technicians in safety and maintenance.
  • Identify safety issues and proactively address concerns.
  • Participate in planning and scheduling of electrical work with minimal production impact.
  • Use reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure production goals are met.
  • Maximize team technical skills through effective training resources.
  • Manage maintenance requests and inventory using computer-based programs.
  • Resolve associate and contractor issues while adhering to site policies and procedures.

Required skills

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in an industrial setting
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal, electronic)
  • Trades certification or post-secondary diploma in technology or engineering
  • Analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a leadership role and using CMMS (SAP)
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
  • Experience with process control (PLC) is advantageous
