Overview

Weyerhaeuser is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor for their Timberstrand manufacturing plant in Kenora, Ontario. This role involves leading a team of Electricians and Technicians in maintaining safety, quality, and equipment management in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. The supervisor will play a crucial role in planning, scheduling, and troubleshooting to achieve production goals while fostering a collaborative team culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead daily activities of the Electrical team and contractors
  • Ensure safety by identifying and addressing safety issues
  • Facilitate effective communication across shifts and with production teams
  • Plan and schedule Electrical work to reduce production impact
  • Utilize troubleshooting methods to maintain equipment uptime
  • Maximize team skills through effective training resources
  • Manage maintenance requests and inventory using computer-based programs
  • Resolve issues among associates and contractors while adhering to site policies

Required skills

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal)
  • Trades certification or post-secondary diploma in technology/engineering
  • Analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in a leadership role and using CMMS (SAP)
  • Familiarity with process control (PLC) is preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
