Overview

Allen Construction Management Services LLC (ACMS Northwest) is seeking an Electrical Inspector to support public sector clients in Portland, Oregon. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with electrical codes and regulations through comprehensive inspections of electrical installations, contributing to the safety and functionality of public infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect electrical installations for compliance with the Oregon Electrical Specialty Code and local regulations.
  • Conduct periodic inspections under the Master Permit Program.
  • Review electrical products for proper listings and Fire and Life Safety standards.
  • Issue notices of code violations and ensure timely corrections.
  • Enforce Oregon electrical licensing laws and issue non-conformance notices.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and communicate findings with stakeholders.
  • Document daily construction activities and prepare detailed reports.
  • Ensure contractor, personnel, and public safety on job sites.

Required skills

  • Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC) and Electrical Specialty Code Inspector Certification (EI)
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code and Oregon State Electrical Safety Law
  • Construction quality assurance inspection practices
  • Electrical systems including instrumentation, control panels, PLCs, and HVAC
  • Construction methods, materials, specifications, and standards
  • Safety practices and quality standards for construction materials
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, codes, laws, and contracts
  • Math calculations related to construction progress, dimensions, and costs
  • Effective communication of technical electrical information
  • Detail-oriented in maintaining construction records and writing reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Apple products
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with diverse teams
