Job Description

Overview

JET Electrical Testing is seeking experienced electrical test technicians for the roles of Electrical Field Service Test Technician and Senior Electrical Field Service Test Technician. The company focuses on providing comprehensive electrical testing services primarily in New Jersey, with additional work occasionally in nearby states. The position offers opportunities for technical growth and a union-backed work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and problem identification and analysis.
  • Make recommendations regarding corrective actions and repairs.
  • Close and open circuit breakers from local control and SCADA systems.
  • Verify AC and DC relay wiring.
  • Perform operational verifications for various electrical systems and transformer configurations.
  • Mark up project drawings to reflect as-built conditions.
  • Generate technical reports detailing services and corrective actions taken.
  • Conduct additional activities such as electrical tests and battery setup.

Required skills

  • Expertise in electrical transmission and distribution equipment
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and OSHA regulations
  • Experience with test equipment like circuit breaker timing apparatus and digital multi-meters
  • Proficiency in computer skills including MS Office and willingness to learn new software
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain CDL and TWIC
