Overview

Hoffmann Filter Corporation is seeking an Electrical Field Service Engineer to join their team in Brighton, Michigan. This full-time position involves extensive travel (up to 75%) and focuses on installing and commissioning industrial coolant filtration systems while providing top-notch customer service and support.

Key responsibilities

  • Install and commission Hoffmann Filtration systems at customer sites
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PLC-based control systems
  • Debug and modify PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other control components
  • Prepare for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layouts and coordinating with customers
  • Maintain a professional presence on-site and build positive relationships with customers
  • Document work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports
  • Work with engineers to improve serviceability and maintainability of filtration systems

Required skills

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Industrial Automation or related field
  • 5+ years of related experience or equivalent education
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical schematics and control systems
  • Experience with debugging and commissioning PLCs and HMIs
  • Familiarity with Siemens S7 and/or PLC controls programming preferred
  • Experience with industrial controls and troubleshooting
  • Basic mechanical skills, including pipe fitting and welding/brazing
