Airy, MDEmployment Type: Full-TimeIndustry: Commercial Electrical ConstructionJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team in Mt. Airy, MD. This position will support a growing electrical contractor specializing in large-scale commercial construction projects, including ground-up developments. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing accurate estimates, reviewing construction documents, managing bid processes, and working closely with project teams to develop competitive proposals.The Electrical Estimator will be responsible for evaluating project opportunities, performing detailed takeoffs, analyzing costs, and supporting successful project awards.ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed electrical estimates for large-scale commercial construction projectsReview and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and bid documentsPerform accurate electrical takeoffs and material quantity calculationsDevelop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimatesSolicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricingIdentify project scope requirements, risks, and cost considerationsPrepare bid proposals and supporting documentationCollaborate with project managers, field teams, and leadership throughout the estimating processAssist with project handoff from estimating to operations after awardMaintain knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, and pricing trendsQualifications3+ years of experience as an Electrical Estimator within commercial constructionExperience estimating ground-up commercial electrical projectsAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documentsExperience with electrical estimating software preferredStrong understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation practicesStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent communication and organizational skillsPreferred ExperienceExperience working with a commercial electrical contractorBackground estimating large-scale commercial projectsStrong understanding of construction processes from preconstruction through project completionCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceFull-time, local position in Mt.
