Job Description

Overview

The Electrical Estimator at Kiely Family of Companies is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects. The role requires managing multiple bids, performing detailed take-offs, and coordinating with various stakeholders throughout the bidding and pre-construction processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for electrical construction projects
  • Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Perform detailed take-offs and attend pre-bid meetings
  • Coordinate with internal teams, general contractors, vendors, and manufacturers
  • Manage multiple bids simultaneously and ensure deadlines are met
  • Analyze and evaluate architectural and electrical drawings and specifications
  • Assist in efficient production of accurate take-offs
  • Identify discrepancies in drawings or specifications and communicate with the design team
  • Conduct procurement processes including pre-qualification and bid analysis
  • Operate and maintain proficiency in internal estimating systems and software

Required skills

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction, Engineering or related field (preferred but no
  • 5-10 years of experience in electrical estimating or electrical construction
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and construction methods
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., McCormick, Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam)
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
