Overview

FIS, LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates for various electrical construction projects while collaborating with project managers, vendors, and clients.

Key responsibilities

  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare project estimates
  • Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations
  • Develop detailed project budgets and bid proposals
  • Analyze project risks and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required
  • Collaborate with project management and operations teams
  • Assist in value engineering and design-build opportunities
  • Track bid results and identify areas for continuous improvement

Required skills

  • Minimum 3 years of electrical estimating experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical construction methods
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contract documents
  • Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code)
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
  • Experience with Accubid or similar estimating software
  • Field experience in electrical construction
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Design-build estimating experience
