Overview

Trenton Systems is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead their PCBA design and manufacturing efforts. The role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of PCBAs, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely project execution while collaborating cross-functionally.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of electrical engineers and PCB designers
  • Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and prioritization
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams
  • Oversee schematic capture and PCB layout for complex designs
  • Ensure designs meet electrical, thermal, and mechanical requirements
  • Drive design reviews and uphold best practices and standards
  • Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) initiatives
  • Interface with contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure quality
  • Resolve production issues and implement continuous improvements
  • Develop and maintain design guidelines and documentation standards
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in PCBA design and manufacturing
  • 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Proficiency in ECAD tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, Mentor)
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, power delivery, and EMI/EMC
  • Experience with high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal designs
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
