Job Description

Overview

Pro-Active Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer for their contract manufacturing division in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. The engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating electronic hardware for a diverse range of customer applications, operating in a fast-paced environment that requires quick adaptability and a broad skill set.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and prototype electronic hardware for customer applications
  • Create and maintain design documentation including schematics and PCB layouts
  • Apply simulation and engineering judgment to validate designs
  • Collaborate with Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering teams
  • Support multiple concurrent projects and rapidly learn new technologies
  • Assist in prototype builds and test execution
  • Develop and execute verification and validation plans
  • Troubleshoot issues through root cause analysis
  • Engage directly with customers to clarify requirements and present designs
  • Coordinate with vendors for sourcing and technical alignment
  • Maintain project documentation and support quality systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCAD)
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and simulation tools
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in contract manufacturing
  • Experience with embedded systems and firmware development
  • Familiarity with Bluetooth or wireless technologies
  • Python or scripting experience
