Job Description

Overview

The Electrical Assembly Technician at RIX Industries is responsible for new production, maintenance, and repair of various electrical systems, including gas generation systems and precision compressor solutions. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, electrical schematic interpretation, and experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) in a safety-focused environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and High Voltage Enclosures (HVE's)
  • Diagnose and repair electrical problems using diagrams and blueprints
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and conduct tests on electrical systems
  • Use testing devices and tools to pinpoint problems
  • Work safely with electrical systems up to 600 volts
  • Collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Maintain and repair cable harnesses

Required skills

  • 2+ years of trade school or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years experience with wiring, troubleshooting, and programming of PLCs
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written
  • Working knowledge of electrical one-lines, schematics, and prints
  • Familiarity with P & ID's, Loop Drawings, and Controllers
  • Experience with pneumatic controlled loops and transducers
  • Understanding of safety protocols for electrical work
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Journeyman Instrument Technician degree or instrumentation certification (preferred)
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and communication protocols (preferred)
