Job Description

Overview

The EHS&S Engineer at A.O. Smith will implement and oversee policies and programs to enhance the organization's Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) performance. This role requires providing leadership in developing strategies for effective EHSS programs across multiple locations in the Eastern Tennessee Region.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage EHSS budget
  • Represent facility on Global EHSS Council
  • Manage EHSS through ISO-based management platform and reporting tools
  • Perform routine tasks such as project safety plans, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations
  • Ensure safety equipment is maintained
  • Develop, implement, and monitor safety initiatives
  • Identify, develop, and conduct required EHSS trainings
  • Manage worker's compensation claim process
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's in Occupational Health & Safety related field
  • 5+ years of manufacturing EHS management experience with degree
  • 8+ years of manufacturing EHS management experience without degree
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of regulations including US EPA, TDEC, DOT, TOSHA
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulations for compliance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and 45001
