Overview

The EH&S Manager at Johns Manville Corp will oversee all health, safety, and environmental activities for the Scottsboro, AL plant. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, managing the EHS team's performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Manage the performance of the EHS Team.
  • Lead initiatives towards OSHA VPP Star Site certification.
  • Facilitate incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Manage environmental monitoring and recordkeeping systems.
  • Oversee proper management and disposal of industrial waste.
  • Establish and communicate HSE metrics and reports.
  • Support the development of safety plans and lead safety committees.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in EHS within manufacturing.
  • Prior Safety Specific Training (OSHA 30 Hour, Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, etc.).
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, NFPA).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Leadership and team management abilities.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
