Job Description

Overview

The EHS Coordinator at A.O. Smith will provide support in all Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHSS) functions and manage plant-wide safety and environmental compliance efforts. The role involves coordinating various EHSS projects, training, audits, and risk assessments to ensure a safe working environment in a manufacturing setting.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist management with preparing annual plant budget for EHSS
  • Perform safety training sessions and hold toolbox talks with plant operators
  • Lead injury prevention tools and techniques in partnership with operations
  • Act as a consultant for OSHA and TDEC regulatory requirements
  • Manage EHSS through an ISO-based management platform and reporting tools
  • Perform project safety plans, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations
  • Review and update EHSS policies and procedures for compliance
  • Implement and support culture change activities
  • Report performance to site EHSS Manager and Operations Director
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's in Occupational Health & Safety or EHS related field
  • 3-5+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations including EPA, OSHA, and DOT
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Moderate project management experience
