Job Description

Overview

The Early Head Start Teacher at Children First, Inc. is responsible for providing high-quality early education and child development services, particularly for children with disabilities. This role focuses on promoting cognitive, social, and emotional growth in young learners while supporting family engagement in their children’s development.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver research-based curriculum and assess child development.
  • Provide effective and nurturing teacher-child interactions.
  • Plan and implement learning experiences for infants and toddlers.
  • Collect and analyze data to promote children's progress.
  • Set and maintain professional boundaries with families.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and community representatives.

Required skills

  • HS Diploma/GED and Infant/Toddler endorsed CDA or Birth-Five FCCPC
  • AA, BA, or MA in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
  • Experience in an early childhood setting with diverse populations
  • Certification in First Aid and Adult, Infant, and Child CPR
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English; bilingual skills helpful
  • Knowledge of Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework
  • Time management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis and usage of technology
