Overview

The Early Head Start Teacher at The Y of Central Maryland is responsible for managing an Early Head Start classroom, ensuring compliance with regulations while promoting the welfare and safety of children. The role involves lesson planning, assessing child development, maintaining communication with parents, and fostering a nurturing environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage an Early Head Start classroom according to regulations
  • Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of enrolled children
  • Maintain appropriate adult/child ratios
  • Write and implement individualized daily lesson plans
  • Conduct individual observations and assessments
  • Plan and manage classroom structure, including schedules and routines
