Overview

As a Driver Trainee with McLane Company, you will learn the essential functions of the Driver position, gaining exposure to warehouse and operational processes. This role focuses on the accurate and timely distribution of products while promoting safety and compliance with regulations. Key responsibilities

  • Maneuver tractor into position and secure trailer lines.
  • Operate truck safely in compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Inspect tractor-trailer equipment pre/post trip and submit inspection reports.
  • Document delivery receipts and product temperatures using Driver Delivery Handheld (DDH).
  • Train with a Driver Trainer to gain knowledge of commercial driving regulations.
  • Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations.
  • Assist in unloading trailer and delivering products to customer premises.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Ability to complete training and obtain Class A CDL
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • Effective communication skills
  • Familiarity with PeopleNet devices

  • Drivers make $70,000 to $110,000 after training
