Overview

The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) at Chenega Corporation is responsible for providing urgent and emergent support to individuals impacted by domestic abuse within the Department of the Air Force Family Advocacy Program. The DAVA collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of victims and their children, while offering confidential guidance and resources for recovery.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 response to domestic abuse victims via emergency contact number.
  • Establish and review victim safety plans based on risk assessments.
  • Notify appropriate authorities if imminent risk of serious harm is identified.
  • Advise victims on available military and civil actions for safety.
  • Assist victims with access to resources such as housing and legal services.
  • Maintain detailed contact files for each victim to ensure continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with Family Advocacy Program personnel and community resources.
  • Participate in development and evaluation of domestic abuse policies and protocols.
