The Abeel Firm PLLC is seeking a Divorce & Family Law Litigation Attorney to handle contested family law matters from intake to resolution in Buffalo, New York. The firm is looking for a confident litigator who values professionalism and client impact, and offers opportunities for meaningful case responsibility and professional growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle contested divorce and family law matters through final resolution
  • Develop and execute case strategy with attention to deadlines and details
  • Represent clients in hearings, conferences, motion practice, and negotiations
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents with precision
  • Counsel clients with empathy and strategic judgment
  • Maintain organized files and clear communication throughout each matter
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to enhance case strategy and client experience

Required skills

  • Active New York law license
  • 3-4 years of divorce and family law litigation experience; 4-8 years preferred
  • Experience handling contested family law cases independently
  • Strong courtroom presence and confidence in litigation proceedings
  • Excellent writing, drafting, research, and strategic thinking skills
  • Organized and able to manage a full caseload with professionalism
  • Ability to advocate effectively without creating unnecessary conflict
