Overview

The Distribution Center Team Member at Tractor Supply Company in Caldwell, Idaho, is responsible for tasks related to receiving inventory, selecting merchandise for shipping, and loading items onto trailers. This entry-level position ensures that operations meet company standards for accuracy, safety, productivity, and quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments, directing merchandise to the appropriate area
  • Check inventory against bills of lading and packing slips
  • Take inventory of merchandise, checking quantity and maintaining records
  • Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise
  • Process UPS inbound shipments and supply orders
  • Perform cycle counts and resolve inventory discrepancies
  • Move merchandise using material handling equipment
  • Verify merchandise orders for accuracy and process documents
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area

Required skills

  • 0-2 years of experience in a distribution center
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to lift 50-75 pounds continuously
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Familiarity with RF terminals, bar code scanners, and other warehouse tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate various material handling equipment safely
