Overview

AutoZone is looking for a Distribution Center Supervisor to oversee daily operations within a department at their Danville, Illinois distribution center. The role focuses on enhancing productivity, training employees, ensuring safety, and improving workflow efficiencies in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and motivate a team of up to 30 direct reports to meet productivity and operational goals
  • Monitor and analyze labor costs and daily payroll to ensure compliance with attendance policies
  • Provide coaching to optimize performance, minimize costs, and maximize operational quality
  • Oversee work processes and implement continuous improvement strategies
  • Manage daily shift schedules for adequate staffing and operational execution
  • Collaborate with DC Operations Managers to achieve company objectives
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety standards
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address challenges and improve processes

Required skills

  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience
  • 3 to 5 years of warehouse experience in a high-volume distribution or logistics environment
  • Experience operating Power Industrial Equipment like forklifts and electric pallet jacks
  • Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English
  • Effective team management and leadership skills
  • Understanding of time management and safety management
  • Knowledge of process improvement and warehouse operations
