Overview

Advanced Telecom Systems is looking for a skilled Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Technician to join their team in Tampa, Florida. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of DAS solutions for clients, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, test, and commission DAS and BDA systems for cellular and public safety communications.
  • Optimize system performance through design interpretation and coverage analysis.
  • Perform system testing using tools like spectrum analyzers; diagnose and resolve hardware issues.
  • Oversee installation teams, providing guidance and mentoring throughout projects.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with regulations during installations.
  • Provide technical support and client training post-installation.

Required skills

  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience with cellular DAS and RF communications systems
  • Proficiency with RF signal testing tools such as spectrum analyzers and sweep testers
  • Familiarity with DAS components like antennas, coaxial cables, fiber optics, and amplifiers
  • Knowledge of public safety standards and codes including NFPA and FCC regulations
  • Basic understanding of electrical and networking concepts
  • Certifications such as iBwave Design or NICET In-Building Public Safety are desirable
  • Valid driver's license
