Job Description

Overview

As a Distinguished AI Engineer at Capital One, you will be pivotal in creating responsible AI systems that enhance customer experiences. Working within the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team, you will help design and implement an enterprise Generative AI Platform that enables various product teams to utilize AI capabilities effectively and safely.

Key responsibilities

  • Design the agentic workflow framework and shared services for AI applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers and product managers
  • Contribute to platform architecture and refine diagrams and APIs
  • Standardize and automate agentic workflows for enterprise applications
  • Develop end-to-end GenAI SDK and tools to accelerate deployment of AI workflows
  • Ensure trust and safety by implementing guardrail services for AI applications
  • Optimize AI orchestration and performance through various techniques
  • Conduct mentorship and engage in architecture discussions across teams
  • Represent Capital One at AI conferences and contribute to industry discussions

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or Scala
  • Experience with deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Familiarity with Agentic Frameworks like LangChain or Semantic Kernel
  • Experience with LLMOps tools like Google Cloud Vertex AI or Amazon SageMaker
  • Strong understanding of Trust and Safety in AI applications
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Kubernetes expertise and experience with multi-region deployments
  • Experience mentoring and influencing engineering teams
