Overview

At Capital One, the Distinguished AI Engineer will play a critical role in creating responsible and reliable AI systems that redefine the banking experience. The position involves working with the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team to deliver AI-powered products that enhance operational efficiency and customer interactions, leveraging a range of advanced technologies in the process.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components
  • Leverage Open Source and SaaS AI technologies like AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, and PyTorch
  • Invent and introduce LLM optimization techniques
  • Contribute to the technical vision and roadmap for foundational AI systems

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
  • At least 8 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies
  • 8 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java
  • Experience deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams
  • Experience with LLM Inference, Similarity Search, VectorDBs, and Guardrails
  • Passion for staying updated on AI research and applying techniques in production
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
