Job Description

Overview

The Director of Total Rewards at PacifiCorp plays a critical role in shaping employee support and reward strategies. This position leads the execution of health, welfare, and retirement benefits while ensuring compliance and operational excellence. The director will also influence compensation outcomes and build a high-performing team to deliver impact across the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee compensation, employee benefit, and disability programs including health care coverage and retirement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and manage annual reporting requirements.
  • Assist in developing company bargaining proposals for employee benefits.
  • Participate in union negotiations and communicate company plans to employees and union leaders.
  • Manage relationships with benefits and compensation consultants, brokers, and trustees.
  • Handle employee inquiries regarding benefits and compensation.
  • Monitor costs and utilization of benefit plans and recommend enhancements.
  • Act as trustee on pension and medical trusts.
  • Establish and adhere to department budgets.
  • Select, coach, and develop employees while managing performance evaluations.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • Minimum of ten years' experience in Human Resources management.
  • Five years of direct people management experience.
  • Skills in establishing objectives, executing policy, and directing resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employee compensation and benefit plans.
