Overview

Middlesex Health is seeking a Director of Surgical Services for their 275-bed Magnet hospital in Connecticut. This full-time role involves overseeing the entire surgical services line, including the Operating Room, Endoscopy, and more, while ensuring collaboration among medical staff, patients, and senior leadership to enhance patient care and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire surgical services line including Operating Room and Endoscopy
  • Serve as a liaison between medical staff, patients, and administration
  • Develop and evaluate ongoing surgical services programs
  • Ensure coordination of patient care and delivery processes
  • Sustain a culture of safety, quality, and service excellence
  • Build strong relationships with physicians and administration

Required skills

  • Registered nurse with a BSN from an accredited school of nursing
  • Master's degree in a related healthcare field
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Surgical Services
  • Minimum of 5 years in a progressive leadership role
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills
  • Experience with team building and strategic planning
