Overview

The Director of Region System Operations at PacifiCorp plays a crucial leadership role in managing the transmission and distribution operations. This position is responsible for guiding teams, developing strategic objectives, and ensuring effective resource allocation to enhance operational performance and customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the system operations center in Salt Lake City or Portland
  • Establish strategic business objectives and plans in alignment with company goals
  • Manage financial and employee resources for efficient operations
  • Develop and implement best practices for transmission and distribution systems
  • Monitor benchmarks for continuous improvements in operational performance
  • Liaise with regulators, unions, and community agencies
  • Participate in regional planning organizations as a company spokesperson
  • Ensure compliance with NERC reliability standards
  • Develop technical training programs for employees

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 7-10 years of utility experience in distribution and transmission operations
  • 5 years of direct people management experience
  • Knowledge of transmission and distribution operations and regulatory standards
  • Experience with outage management and energy management systems
  • 24/7 availability for operational support
  • Leadership and communication skills
