Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewAccountable for directing the operation of the Radiology department, its personnel and its affiliated clinic's radiology personnel.What you will doIntegrates Departmental services into the organization's primary functions. Develops and updates policies and procedures consistent with organization's policies ensuring that department meets JCAHO, CMS, NRC, MQSA and ACR standards; makes changes to meet state and federal requirements including safety standards. Participates in the System's Radiology Service Line and participates in the selection of sources for needed services not provided by the department or organization. Stays abreast of new diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, equipment and methods. Responsible for determining new programs and their development. Directs procurement of supplies and equipment in coordinator with Supply chain and assures proper storage and utilization of those items. Establishes fiscal plans for the departments and operates within its parameters. Continually assesses and improves the performance of care and services provided by the department. Conducts regular department meetings and education in-services for all staff. Coordinates marketing plans for services offered in conjunction with Avera Marketing. Operates specialized equipment to produce diagnostic information. Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures.Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions, as long as the accommodations do not cause undue hardship to the employer.Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:Technical Certificate Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent specialty Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire 4-6 years as a staff Technologist Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:Bachelor's Nuclear Medicine Technology, Business, Management or related field Mammography (M) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire orCertified MRI Technologist - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) Upon Hire orComputed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire orCertified Radiology Administrator (CRA) - Radiology Administration Certification Commission (RACC) Management or supervisory experience Expectations and StandardsCommitment to the daily application of Avera's mission, vision, core values, and social principles to serve patients, their families, and our community.
