Overview

KLA is seeking a Director, Product Line Manager for Advanced Packaging & Metrology in Milpitas, California. This leadership role involves driving product strategy, lifecycle management, and market analysis for cutting-edge semiconductor packaging and metrology solutions. The director will collaborate across teams to define product direction, manage customer adoption, and oversee the complete product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

  • Define and own the product roadmap including technical direction and feature prioritization
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life
  • Oversee project planning, scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation
  • Own the product line's P&L, including revenue, margin, and cost structure
  • Drive Balanced Scorecard metrics: cost, growth, customer satisfaction, and innovation
  • Analyze market trends and technology inflections in advanced packaging
  • Conduct strategic market studies and competitive analysis
  • Evaluate and prioritize customer feature requests and translate them into actionable plans
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Lead customer engagement strategies and act as the primary contact for customers
  • Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Operations for successful product execution
  • Facilitate clear communication among stakeholders and project teams
  • Champion product vision internally and externally
  • Engage with the global installed base requiring business travel

Required skills

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, applications engineering, or technical marketing
  • Deep understanding of advanced packaging manufacturing processes
  • Experience with PLM tools and financial modeling
  • Proven ability to develop and execute market strategies
  • Knowledge of wafer inspection technologies
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally (30-40%)
