Overview

The Director of Oncology Quality and Analytics at Carilion Clinic plays a critical role in transforming healthcare by developing and executing a comprehensive oncology quality strategy that aligns with organizational priorities. This position involves managing multiple departments, overseeing fiscal responsibilities, and ensuring compliance with accrediting agencies while fostering a culture of service excellence and promoting patient care.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior management and healthcare staff to improve processes and services
  • Develop and execute an oncology quality strategy linked to cancer program growth objectives
  • Define, monitor, and report KPIs for various oncology services
  • Translate complex data into meaningful reports for leadership and committees
  • Ensure timely delivery of actionable insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency
  • Manage multiple departments and support staff to achieve cost-effectiveness and budget goals
  • Plan for growth, staffing, and service improvements in partnership with Human Resources
  • Ensure operational plans align with strategic goals and compliance with regulations
  • Demonstrate respect and empathy in all interactions with patients and staff

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in oncology or healthcare
  • Leadership, planning, and organizational skills
  • Interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Clinical, operational and human resource management skills
  • Licensure or certification in a medical or management-related discipline
