Overview

The Director of the UC ANR Business & Financial Services Unit will provide strategic leadership and organizational direction while overseeing the delivery of administrative and operational services. This role integrates various functions into a unified service model aimed at enhancing customer service and operational efficiency within UC ANR.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee financial management and operational services, ensuring integrity and compliance in financial operations.
  • Lead research administration and grant management activities.
  • Collaborate with central offices to interpret and apply policies and regulations.
  • Support employee development through mentoring and strategic leadership.
  • Drive change management initiatives to promote continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.
  • Build strong partnerships and enhance client satisfaction through a customer-centric service model.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in related area or equivalent experience/training.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in organizational development and administration.
  • Expertise in financial management, budgeting, and fund accounting.
  • Experience in research administration and grant management.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and political acumen skills.
  • Ability to build trust across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Valid California Driver's License.
