Job Description

Overview

As the Director of Tax Planning and Research at Genworth, you will lead the Corporate Tax Department and play a key role in ensuring the financial health of the organization. The position involves overseeing tax planning and compliance activities while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to drive efficiency and effectiveness within the department.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish and achieve strategic tax goals for the Corporate Tax Department.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
  • Implement process improvements and technology changes for better efficiency.
  • Drive tax planning and research projects.
  • Oversee financial planning and analysis activities within the Tax Department.
  • Present tax issues and opportunities to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal business partners, auditors, and advisors.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 15 or more years of relevant work experience, preferably in insurance
  • Experience with large accounting firms or law firms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and project management capabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management at all levels
  • Team leadership and development skills
