Overview

Job Title: Director of SalesReports to: Vice President and General Manager - North AmericaClassification: Exempt Summary:This position is responsible for developing Division wide key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans including the successful execution of these strategies to achieve preset financial targets as they relate to order intake and revenue generation. This position will also develop and motivate a sales team that is widespread across a large geographic area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each of the primary duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals. Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly. Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules and discount rates. Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program. Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas and goals.Assigns sales territory to sales representatives.Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales managers.Meets with key customers, assisting sales managers with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.Developing productive relationships with key personnel in assigned national accounts to establish a complete understanding of customer needs.Manages communications between key customers and internal teams. Effectively manages sales budget for North America.Negotiating contracts with customer and establishing timeline of performance.Working with design, sales team, logistics, managers, marketing, and team members from other departments dedicated to the same customer account to ensure the highest quality of materials are being produced and all customer needs are met.Analyzing client data to provide customer relationship managementPrepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed customer base expansion. Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.Other duties, as assigned. Additional Duties and Responsibilities:Achieves strategic customer objectives defined by company Management.Reviews and approves quotations for accuracy.Closely coordinates company Executive involvement with customer Management. Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience:This position requires a four (4) year college degree in Engineering or Marketing or equivalent related experience in the semiconductor/electronics industry.Requires a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the semiconductors/electronics industry or fifteen (15) years of capital equipment sales experience.Employee must have a valid driver's license and willingness to work a flexible schedule to allow for overnight travel demands, up to 60% of the time.Must be computer literate with MS Office software and have excellent oral and written communication skills to create and edit written materials and to persuade and influence others.Experience with Miller Heiman and Seibel CRM preferred. Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position requires sitting for extended periods of time. Occasionally requires standing, squatting, reaching and bending. Requires the ability to receive information through oral communication both in-person and on the phone. Manual dexterity is needed for using the computer keyboard. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Must have adequate vision to operate computer and complete paperwork.
