Job Description

Overview

The Director of Safety, Security, & Training at Transdev is responsible for leading all safety, compliance, emergency preparedness, and training programs in a unionized transit operation. This high-impact leadership role emphasizes shaping a culture of safety and accountability, driving operational excellence, and protecting employees and passengers within a vital transit system in North Las Vegas.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct all accident, incident, and security investigations
  • Ensure investigations are compliant and well-documented
  • Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, ADA, and other regulations
  • Lead audit readiness efforts and regulatory reporting
  • Serve as the primary liaison to regulatory agencies
  • Develop and implement System Security & Emergency Preparedness Plans
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities with RTC and external agencies
  • Oversee training programs and ensure audit-ready training records
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies and drive safety performance programs

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Safety Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of transit safety, security, or emergency preparedness experience
  • Minimum 4+ years of leadership experience in a unionized environment
  • Strong knowledge of transit regulations (DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, ADA)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional safety certification
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability to obtain
