Utah Transit AuthorityDescription As the Director of Real Estate and Transit Oriented Development, you will take on the role of a community builder. You will bring your expertise in large-scale real estate, property management, acquisition, disposition, and development to a portfolio that spans the Utah Transit Authority's extensive property and facility network.This is a high-impact leadership opportunity that calls for an experienced real estate professional who understands the complexity of managing large properties, navigating development opportunities, and building partnerships that create long-term value. Your leadership will help UTA maximize its real estate assets while advancing projects that strengthen communities, improve access to transit, and shape how people live, work, and connect throughout the region.As the Director of Real Estate and Transit Oriented Development, you will:Strategize and direct all real estate activities of UTA.Establish and oversee related programs, policies, and processes.Enact and follow executive direction and policies regarding Transit-Oriented Communities (TOC) and Development (TOD), real property acquisition and disposition, real property administration, and management.Oversee station area planning and predevelopment efforts and planning and development of agency facilities.Lead the development team on all UTA-led real estate development projects.Manage relationships with development partners, community leaders, and staff.Counsel agency leadership on real estate issues.Prepare, present, and interpret TOD and real property reporting, including reports to senior management and business units.Oversee real estate managers and the budget, providing leadership and directing staffing and budgetary strategy.This is an in-person position that cannot be conducted remotely. If you live outside of the area, you will need to relocate to Utah. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING: Seven years coordinating real estate projects, property development, project financing and financial analysis.Seven years supervising professional employees and/or supervisors.Three years working with government entities regarding economic development issues and real estate matters including real-estate transactions, land use, zoning, local financing, urban design, transit design, and environmental constraints/obligations.Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience making reports and presentations to an oversight body such as a governing board of trustees.Prefer experience in a service-related industry such as transportation or mass transit.Bachelor's degree in Business, Architecture, Planning, Real Estate Development, or related field.
