Job Description

Overview

The Director of Quality Assurance at RIX Industries is responsible for ensuring that the company delivers compliant and high-quality products tailored to the aerospace and defense sectors. This role requires leading a culture of quality that promotes proactive management of quality systems and processes, driving improvements that enhance operational performance and customer trust.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise Quality System functional leaders and guide their professional development.
  • Develop and manage departmental plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Lead the authorship and enforcement of the RIX Quality Management System.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for quality assurance.
  • Integrate Production Readiness into the New Product Introduction process.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain Management and Engineering on supplier quality excellence.
  • Oversee the advancement and certification of RIX manufacturing core competencies.
  • Direct performance measurement systems and KPIs for quality improvement.
  • Foster a culture of trust and accountability in quality objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 15 years in aerospace or defense manufacturing quality leadership
  • Experience with DCMA oversight and government compliance
  • Familiarity with FAR and DFARS requirements
  • 5 years leading AS9100-compliant systems
  • Deep knowledge of configuration management and document control
  • Training in continuous improvement and Lean/Six Sigma
  • Exceptional communication skills and group presentation experience
  • Ability to balance multiple projects with attention to detail
  • U.S. Citizenship or qualified U.S. Person
