Overview

As the Director of Pharmacy at UnitedHealth Group, you will oversee all pharmacy operations at AlpineVista Behavioral Healthcare, ensuring compliance with regulations and aligning pharmacy services with the hospital's clinical and financial goals. This role includes leadership responsibilities for a team of pharmacists and support staff, as well as innovation in pharmacy practices to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all pharmacy services within the hospital
  • Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountability for pharmacy leadership and staff
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and legal requirements
  • Oversee pharmacy financial performance, including budgeting and cost-containment
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and interdisciplinary stakeholders
  • Drive innovation and performance improvement in pharmacy services

Required skills

  • BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Current Colorado Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Experience in using computer applications including MS Office and pharmacy information systems
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions
  • Demonstrated experience in an inpatient hospital environment (preferred)
  • Experience with automated dispensing systems (preferred)
