Overview

The Director of Pharmacy at UnitedHealth Group will oversee operations across four pharmacy locations in Great Falls, Montana, focusing on compliance, strategic planning, and performance management to enhance patient outcomes. This role involves collaborating with hospital leadership to drive innovation and ensure that pharmacy services align with clinical and financial goals across the health system.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all pharmacy services within a single hospital
  • Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use
  • Lead and develop pharmacy leadership, including managers, pharmacists, and technicians
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and legal requirements
  • Oversee system-wide pharmacy financial performance and cost-containment initiatives
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and interdisciplinary stakeholders
  • Drive innovation, performance improvement, and strategic growth through data and technology

Required skills

  • ACPE-accredited pharmacy degree (PharmD preferred)
  • Current Montana Pharmacist license or eligibility to obtain
  • 5+ years of experience as a pharmacist in an acute care hospital setting
  • 2+ years of recent Pharmacy Manager/Director experience
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Advanced clinical knowledge in pathophysiology and pharmacotherapeutics
  • Proficient in emerging medications and pharmacy technologies
  • Solid leadership, administrative, and managerial capabilities
