Job Description: Director of Operations Jackson County Habitat for Humanity ReStore Commerce, GA Full-time $75,000/year Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit working toward a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Through volunteer labor and donations, Habitat helps families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable homeownership. Jackson County Habitat for Humanity's ReStore is a retail thrift store that raises money to help build homes, community, and hope across Jackson County. We're looking for a hands-on Director of Operations to run the ReStore day to day - from the sales floor and loading dock to the volunteer schedule and monthly board report. This is a working leadership role, not a desk job. Most days you'll be moving between the sales floor, the donation dock, and your team - solving problems in real time, then sitting down to handle the budget, scheduling, and reporting that keep the store on track. You'll report to the Board of Directors and partner closely with the Executive Director on marketing and community engagement. What you'll do • Drive donations and sales - build relationships with donors, contractors, and community groups; keep the floor well-merchandised and priced to move inventory. • Lead the team - hire, train, schedule, and supervise ReStore staff and volunteers, including drivers, sales associates, and warehouse crew. • Run daily operations - oversee receiving, merchandising, and store safety, and troubleshoot issues on the floor as they come up. • Own the numbers - reconcile daily sales, set and adjust pricing strategy, track performance against the annual budget, and approve invoices. • Report and communicate - write a monthly summary of sales, expenses, volunteer hours, and outreach with the Executive Director. • Pitch in physically - expect to lift to 50 lbs. and be on your feet for extended periods; this role works alongside staff on the floor, not just above it. • Drive when needed - operate the ReStore box truck for donation pickups or deliveries on occasions when a driver isn't otherwise available. What you bring • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience. • Experience supervising teams and leading volunteers - retail or nonprofit experience is a plus. • Comfort with hands-on financial tasks: reconciling sales, tracking a budget, approving invoices. • Strong communication skills and ease working with a wide range of people and personalities. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email). • Valid driver's license, clean record for the past 5 years. • Must pass a background check and drug test.Compensation & schedule $75,000 per year, full-time. Primarily Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturday hours as needed. To apply Submit your resume through this job listing. Jackson County Habitat for Humanity is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
