Job Description

Overview

The Director of Maintenance & Reliability at Rise Baking Company will build and lead a company-wide maintenance reliability organization to enhance asset management across all manufacturing sites. This strategic role will partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Capital Planning to improve productivity, lower maintenance costs, and boost operational resilience.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish and lead a new enterprise Maintenance Reliability organization.
  • Define and deploy a standardized reliability operating model across all sites.
  • Develop enterprise asset strategies for critical and common equipment.
  • Implement asset rebuild and life cycle strategies to optimize costs and reduce downtime.
  • Improve maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution through collaboration with site Maintenance Managers.
  • Own the CMMS strategy and ensure data integrity for decision-making.
  • Develop maintenance and reliability KPIs to drive improvement efforts.
  • Provide technical oversight for capital projects and major overhauls.
  • Build capability through training and mentoring of maintenance staff.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in maintenance or reliability leadership.
  • Experience leading multi-site reliability programs.
  • Understanding of food manufacturing or regulated environments.
  • Expertise in maintenance methodologies like RCM, TPM, and predictive maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning.
  • Ability to develop and execute equipment rebuild strategies.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging various stakeholders.
