This position will report to the Weapons Division Sr. Director of Global Supply Chain.The Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and San Jose, CA.Position OverviewThe Director of Global Supply Chain provides leadership to, Material Program Managers (MPMs), Material Planners, Stores, Receiving, and Shipping personnel. The position will be responsible for evolving the supply chain structure, defining strategic objectives, and integrating the GSC strategy with the MP business strategic plan. The Director of Global Supply Chain is responsible for effective communication with the procurement team, improving supplier quality and on-time delivery, timely decision making, personnel development, effective management of MP and supplier resources, and embracing a continuous improvement philosophy. In addition, the director is responsible for all aspects of managing material and inventory on plant to ensure parts arrive in-time to support production schedules based on program/customer demand.Responsibilities:Provide leadership for the GSC organization in a matrixed environment, ensuring strategies and plans are aligned with the business areas with a strong focus on mentoring leaders across the GSC functionsIdentify and quickly address supply chain impacts through a systematic, proactive, approach to issue and problem resolution that identifies, communicates, monitors, and promptly resolves conflicts across all levels of the business and/or programDrive affordability initiatives and opportunitiesChampion for leaders and all team members of the supply chain organizationResponsible and accountable for the strategy, planning, and execution of all supplier contentManage supplier relationships and support negotiations for major subcontract and large procurement suppliersCoordinate planning, budget management, and execution of supplier eventsTotal Cost Management of GSC budget allocationsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree with at least 15 years experience or Masters degree with at least 12 years of experience in supply chain management, program management, operations, or business management.Must have 4 years of experience leading in a matrixed environment.Must have Cost Account Management experience.Must have Aerospace & Defense experience.Demonstrated experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost, and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team, or cost account manager.Ability to obtain a US Government Secret level clea
