Overview

The University of Illinois Foundation is seeking a Director of Estate Administration for its Gift Planning Operations in Champaign, Illinois. This leadership role involves managing the estate administration function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of estate distributions and providing oversight for life income gifts and other estate commitments. The Director will collaborate closely with various stakeholders including donors, estate representatives, and legal advisors.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead estate administration to ensure timely and accurate estate distributions.
  • Communicate with attorneys, advisors, executors, and trustees regarding estate settlements.
  • Implement a tracking system for estates in the settlement process.
  • Supervise the estate administration team and manage performance and professional development.
  • Review and approve deferred gift documentation.
  • Collaborate with accounting staff to ensure compliance with laws and best practices.
  • Oversee administration of life insurance policies owned by UIF.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with legal and tax advisors.
  • Maintain expertise on planned giving vehicles and related laws.
  • Contribute to process development for estate and life income gift administration.
