Job Description

Overview

The Director of Engineering Services at Clarios will lead the Manufacturing Engineering, Operational Excellence, and Maintenance teams at the St. Joseph campus. This role focuses on improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, operational improvements, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making across the assembly plant and distribution center.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Coach technical teams on problem solving and lead problem-solving teams.
  • Drive the implementation of the US/CAN Manufacturing Operating system.
  • Embrace lean manufacturing concepts to eliminate waste.
  • Oversee maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead commissioning and integration of new equipment and technologies.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy.
  • Manage a team of engineers, maintenance leaders, and skilled tradespeople.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets and vendor contracts.
  • Collaborate with Regional and Global teams on manufacturing best practices.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • 10+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in process controls and automation projects
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies
  • Operational experience and financial acumen
